Name: Kilsoanas
Style: Extended Trad
Length: 36 feet
Description: Take a step back in time. Only rarely does an
opportunity arise to purchase an authentic, 28yr old craft from
the original owners with a file bursting with original paperwork,
receipts, reviews, instruction manuals and even samples for
the carpet and furnishings! The vendors, who commissioned the
build in 1982, are very reluctantly selling as a result of their
failing health. This 36ft cruiser stern vessel was built by
the renowned Peter Nicholls Steel Boats of Napton and is fitted
with a faithful BMC 1500 diesel engine which even after all
this time has still only recorded 1896 hrs of running time.
From the 4ft 6in stern fitted with helmsman’s seats, central
doors and hatch lead, via a 2ft utility/wet locker section housing
the calorifier, and steps, to the 6ft 6in aft cabin featuring
single beds either side of the central corridor and pull out
canvas hammocks overhead. Forward to the basic WC with Porta
Potti to the port side, complete with corner basin, and simple
shower unit opposite to the starboard side. A clever door arrangement
allows the central corridor to be blocked off making a private
full width bathroom area. Forward to the 6ft galley to starboard
featuring a stainless steel sink, oven/grill/four burner hob,
3 base storage cupboards and a useful, hinged, fold down worktop
extension. Opposite is installed a Torgem solid fuel stove with
back boiler to heat the domestic water supply. This leads directly
to the lounge with bench seating which converts to a double
bed and offers additional storage below. Useful bookcase style
shelves are fitted opposite. Two third glazed front doors lead,
via steps, to the small foredeck and gas locker for 2 x 20kg
bottles. The interior woodwork is representative of the period,
being varnished ply below the gunwhale and horizontal pine t
&g above and to the deckhead. In some areas the paneling
has blackened due to atmospheric conditions but we believe this
could soon be improved with the use of an appropriate cleaner.
For insurance purposes the hull was independently surveyed in
October 2007 and a copy is available for inspection. An extensive
inventory of boating necessities including maps/guides and even
an anchor with chain is included in the sale. The hatch, which
is of wood construction, ideally needs replacing.

for the filtered drinking water system is set into a Corian
worktop and splash back with two under counter cupboards below
incorporating four clever slide out baskets and a further corner
base unit. Opposite is another Corian worktop/splash back with
inset four burner hob and extractor fan. A further three under
counter base units provide excellent storage along with additional

to another double. Two sizes of demountable tables are supplied

one with full length mirrored door, corner TV cabinet, excellent
under bed storage and single panel radiator with shelf over.
Thoughtfully, the central heating control is situated adjacent
to the bed and the water gauge nearby. Glazed. Hardwood doors
lead, via steps, to the 4ft foredeck with a locker housing the
battery for, and giving access to, the bow thruster. A cratch
with glazed ‘A’ frame and ‘plastic glazed’
zipped panels provide useful additional space. In the bow there
is a storage locker for two gas bottles. The hull was blacked
in May 2010. The whole of the interior is finished in oak panels
with solid oak trims to the standard expected of a Piper boat.
The technical features include 2500kva inverter, 240v Shoreline
connection (no cable), immersion heater, external DAB radio
aerial, SKY satellite dish, signal finder and receiver, remote
CO2 and gas alarm systems, twin alternators and a 675 litre
stainless steel water tank. The vendor is now giving up boating
and consequently there is an extensive inventory including maps/guides,
spare water filter, waterproof jackets, approx 100 litres of
fuel and even a large supply of perfectly sized logs!
With its pedigree, complete boat file, original hull survey
and a full documented service history, this is certainly a craft
not to be missed.

shell in 2005, she is fitted with a Vetus 38hp engine which
has recorded just 1100 hrs of running time. Plenty of hopper
windows and side hatch doors in the galley area, along with
the interior finished entirely in ash panels and elegant veneer
flooring provide a light and airy living space finished in a
contempory style. Between the stern doors and rear bedroom is
a most useful space currently unused which would lend itself
perfectly for use as a utility area or even a study/office.
Forward of the bedroom is a good size bathroom featuring a modern
tiled shower over a hip bath, basin in a vanity unit with monobloc
mixer tap and cassette toilet.A storage area houses the compact
twin tub washing machine and spare cassette. The modern.stylish
galley has the usual equipment and features beech effect base
units, dark corian style worktops and very smart harlequin tiling.
The all important wine rack provides the finishing touch! The
saloon area has free standing recliner chairs and the dining
table is of the folding leaf style concealing two dining chairs.
A very clever arrangement. And yes, there is the vital sold
fuel stove in addition to the Alde central heating system! The
3kw inverter along with Shoreline hook up provides plenty of
240v capacity. On a slightly negative note, Brandy Buck is ideally
in need of a roof re-paint which is quite straight forward and
allows a prospective purchaser the opportunity to personalise
the craft with perhaps a contrasting colour to the existing
blue livery. The work could be carried out here at Swanley and
it’s cost is more than compensated by the new and reduced
guide price.
